Yan Ots

One of the best house producers from "East Europe", he is originally from  Russia, and is now living in Germany. Yan Ots aka Pavel Stoyan began producing in the middle of 1990’s without any music knowledge on the legendary underground computer platform scene ZX Spectrum (Sinclair). The next few years following, were the years of explosive development of his creative work. So in year 1999 Yan wins the first prize in the music competition in the international computer arts festival Paradox. The following 2 years he had the same success in this demoscene in the same competition category.

After that he decided to professionalize himself and started actively learning production with PCs.  In 2004 Yan moved to Germany, where he met many great house producers from Hamburg; Syke, Sugarstarr, DONS Productions, and Knee Deep. This acquaintance influenced his views on his musical predilection and he now turns completely to house music for spirictual satisfaction. His tracks differs with amazing positive energy, flavored with funky latin percussion and major disco tunes with a slightly soul touch.

But the enigma of Yan Ots is his versatility. He succeeds in each style he  produces – whether it is house music or drum n’bass or even trip-hop.  Yan is also envolved in the developement of online audio label Phubriq.  Go see how they are helping change the scope of online music distribution.  Very forward thinking indeed!!!
