Tampopo aka Philippe Bertrand is a French producer based in the south of France who created the Sumodehouse sound consisting in different layers of electro, house and techno with a heavy dose of distorted manga ghetto bass. Tampopo was first brought to the public attention by DJ Hell via his Gigolo label when he released the 'Sumo Da House' single. The second Tampopo's release is the 'Amadroid' single coming with extra remixes by French producer B. Capriata and NYC duo Hong Kong Counterfeit.

Late 2003 sees a new collaboration starting with the Japanese performing artist Yuki Kawamura (also known as Venus Fly Trapp). This very special project is called Quartier Rouge.

Meanwhile Tampopo has created his own net label called Sweet Smelling Surfaces that is proposing an ever-growing selection of high quality electronic musics - mp3 format, free download - produced by a wild bunch of weirdoes artists!!!

Catalogue includes exclusive tracks by Dj Slip, My Robot Friend, Franco Cinelli, Daniel Dexter and many more that are worth discovering!

Tampopo's single, the 2 tracker 'Sellafield Two'/'Oxygen Lazy', was released on Trapez Ltd, offering a new dimension in Tampopo's sound.

An exclusive track - in the pure SumoDeHouse tradition! - will be included in the new compilation of Elbee Bad's La Rhon Records.
